A floor suited to every sporting activity

Not all sports floors have to meet the same requirements. The choice depends in particular on the activity, the intensity of use, the level of comfort required, shock absorption, grip, durability and the markings needed.

Performance, comfort & safety

Sport & use — A solution chosen according to the activity and the level of stress.

Shock absorption — A suitable construction to better manage impacts.

Grip — A surface suited to the movements and changes of direction specific to the activity.

Durability — Solutions designed to withstand repeated stress and the equipment used.

Comfort — The way the floor behaves contributes to users’ comfort.

Line marking — Lines suited to the sports played and the layout of the hall.

Renovation — Depending on the system, an existing sports floor can be repaired or renovated.

Understanding the elasticity of a sports floor

How a sports floor behaves depends in particular on the way it deforms and absorbs impacts. There are different principles of elasticity.

Area elasticity — A wider area of the floor deforms around the point of impact. This principle is found in particular in certain sports parquet constructions.

Point elasticity — The floor deforms mainly at the point of impact. This principle is found in particular in certain soft sports solutions.

Combined elasticity — Brings the two principles together to combine their characteristics. The right system depends on the activity, the use of the hall and the performance required.

Your questions about sports flooring

There is in particular point elasticity, where the floor deforms mainly at the point of impact, area elasticity, where a wider area contributes to the deformation, and combined systems. The choice depends on the activity and the performance required.

The choice depends on the sports played, how often the hall is used, the performance required and the constraints of the building. Several systems may be suitable; we define the solution according to the project.

Yes, depending on the type of covering and its condition. Some surfaces can be repaired, renovated or given a new finishing coat, while others require more extensive work.

Yes. Depending on the covering and its condition, markings can be adapted or renewed to match the sports played and the layout of the hall.

Fitness areas and dance studios have specific requirements that call for solutions suited to their use.

Fitness — Depending on the areas, the exercises performed and the equipment, the floor must provide suitable grip, good durability and sufficient impact absorption. In areas with weights and machines, it also helps protect the substrate against impacts.

Dance studios — The choice of floor depends on the type of dance, the level of comfort required, grip and the expected behaviour of the surface. The floor construction must therefore be chosen according to how the studio is used.
