According to a study by the Fraunhofer Institute (IBP-Bericht ESB-004/2011 HOKI), DUETTE® fabrics can:
- reduce heat absorption through the windows by up to 78%;
- cut heat loss through the windows by up to 46% during the winter;
- reduce the energy needed to heat a room by up to 51%.

DUETTE® and DUETTE® Architella®: what’s the difference?
Pleated blinds fall into three categories, two of which use a cellular, so-called “honeycomb” structure.
1 – Pleated blinds. This type of blind consists of a single layer of horizontally pleated fabric.
Whereas on DUETTE® and DUETTE® Architella® blinds the cords run invisibly between the layers of fabric, on pleated blinds they pass through holes in the fabric.
2 – DUETTE® blinds. These blinds are made of honeycomb fabric cells that trap air.
Since air is a good thermal insulator, this creates a genuine barrier that interrupts heat transfer between your windows and your interior.

3 – DUETTE® Architella® blinds Architella® blinds share the honeycomb structure of DUETTE® blinds, but incorporate an additional inner layer of fabric (shown in red in the photo) that offers even greater energy efficiency.
As a result, DUETTE® Architella® blinds are among the most energy-efficient window coverings.
As the sun shines differently on each of the windows in your home, you will need to choose carefully which DUETTE® blind model and which opacity level will best suit a room, depending on its orientation and exposure to the sun.
