The different Neher insect screen models for doors
Hinged door
The hinged insect screen is ideal for all doors, whether they are entrance doors or not.
Thanks to its hinged frames, it acts as a secondary door that protects you from insects (flies, wasps, bees, butterflies, mosquitoes…).
These frames open outwards, so you can push the door open to go outside without using your hands. What’s more, thanks to an automatic closing mechanism, the door does not stay open behind you!
Finally, do you have a cat or a dog and worry that your pet might tear through the mesh? Don’t panic! A cat flap is one of the available options.
The closing noise may be perceived as annoying.
Possible options: cat flap and polyester mesh in the lower section.
Double-action swing door
The double-action swing insect screen can easily be opened up to an angle of 120°, in both directions.
Both hands full? No problem: a light push is enough to open the insect screen.
Closing is automatic, secure and silent. It is ensured by opposing spring-loaded pivot bars and magnets concealed in the profile.
Possible options: cat flap and polyester mesh in the lower section.

Pleated insect screen
Pleated insect screens work by sliding sideways. This allows the fabric to fold into a cassette.
Their advantage? They are more compact than sliding-frame pest screens. They leave the view clear, especially in winter or when your door is closed.
In addition, thanks to the fabric being guided in the upper housing and a flat floor profile, they provide full accessibility while minimising the risk of tripping.
Finally, for even greater comfort, they are fitted with a highly ergonomic handle, so that minimal physical effort is needed to operate them.

Sliding insect screen
For patio doors and sliding doors, insect screens with sliding systems are the best choice.
Neher sliding insect screens fit large openings of up to 3 x 3.5 metres. Made to measure, they are manufactured to the nearest millimetre to guarantee you the best possible insect protection.
As an option, a foot recess can be added for hands-free operation, as well as a cat flap and a child-friendly handle.
Please note: to prevent anyone from walking through the mesh, put stickers on sliding doors! The high transparency of insect screens can indeed catch more than one person out.

A few additional features for insect protection
The insect screen cat flap
Don’t restrict your four-legged friends’ freedom! Sliding, hinged and swing doors can be fitted with a cat flap, ideal for letting your cats and dogs roam freely.
Is your dog too big to fit through the cat flap? You could consider a swing door: large dogs can indeed learn to open these doors by themselves.
Cat flaps are available in two sizes:
- 158 mm wide / 170 mm high;
- 298 mm wide / 350 mm high.
Do you know which mesh is fitted to the left and right of the cat flap? A polyester mesh! (Read more: “ Custom-made insect screens: how to choose them? ”) It is a misconception that a stainless steel mesh would be more resistant. In fact, it is not at all suitable for cats, which can shift the mesh strands with their claws. It is also prone to bumps and dents, which impair visibility.
The available colours are limited to 6 standard colours. Unfortunately, custom colour options are not available.

Robust polyester mesh
As an option, your insect screen doors (with the exception of pleated doors) can be fitted with a more robust polyester mesh, more resistant to scratches from cats and dogs and to handling by young children.
This mesh is fitted only to the lower section of your door, preserving transparency at eye level.
